The SE350 computerized sewing and embroidery machine offers easy sewing and embellishment. You can embellish almost any item with over 70 built in embroidery designs or access over 1,000 additional designs from Brother's optional embroidery design cards. The SE350 has 5 bult in alphabet fonts as well. You can save up to 12 embroidery desings in the built in memory. The SE350 uses a 4" x 4" hoop size and has buit in embroidery rotation in 90 and 10 degree increments. Using the large LCD touch screen you can access embroidery designs as well as on-screen editing functions. The backlit LCD touch screen is easy to view with on-screen reference guide in 16 built in languages. This machine is also full of sewing features to construct garments, home dec projects, quilting or just basic sewing and mending. The SE350 has 10 styles of one-step automatic buttonholes, 67 built in stitches with 98 stitch functions, and a built in needle threader to save wear and tear on your eyes and fingers. The built in automatic push-button thread cutter makes garment sewing and embroidery fun and effortless. Brother's Quick-Set bobbin makes changing bobbins easy as you simply drop-in a full bobbin, pull the thread through the slot and begin. The included instructional CD gives easy to follow instructions on the features of the SE350. The written instruction manual is bilingual in english and spanish.

The machine is just wonderful - for the price you want to pay it's the best deal of both sewing and embroidery you can get. Although the machine arrived in an open box, it works great and I have never had any problems with it. For somebody who has used a sewing machine before, this one is extremely easy to learn. In addition, this Brother's creation will be a dream for those who used to work on simple mechanical machines. Some its functions make your sewing life so much easier!And the embroidery unit is so pleasant and easy to work with. Moreover, you can download quite a few designs from Brother website for free!Although you still will need stabilizers, software, threads, more bobbins,and of course feet and designs, it is really a sweet deal for the money it costs.

This item arrived very promptly. I have not yet had a chance to use it extensively, but was impressed with the ease of use for the embroidery part of the machine.

a gift for my wife. I did not know what sewing machine to get so I
just read a lot of reviews and went with this one. When she opened
it up she loved it. but still the real moment is when she will try
to use it, and see if I did any good in my pick. Well she has made
3 baby dresses so far( I think they call them pillow case dresses)
and 3 pair of shoes to match. I asked her several times does she
like the machine, and she simple says she loves it!!! It is not
loud either. I can watch TV while she is about 10 feet away (in the
same room) with no interference with my hearing the TV. Believe it
or not I even used it. To get ready for the big game (Alabama fan
here, Roll Tide) I made 10 rally rags. Hounds tooth fabric on one
side and a red alabama print on the other side. The hounds tooth
side I embroidered "Roll Tide Roll". Sewed them right sides in,
then reversed them insides to out. Put a decorative stitch on the
edges. They turned out great. (sorry for improper sewing terms
here). Of course my sewing was not the best (lol) but they are cool
looking. It was a hit at the championship party we went to (tried
to insert a video, if it worked). So it is easy enough that I could
use, but had everything My wife needs to do her stuff. I love the
easy threading and automatic needle threader. I also bought her the
card reader, but she has not used it as of yet. Now she says she
wants a serger, so I am here at Amazon looking at the Brother
Serger. All in all, I would highly recommend this.

I purchased this model after many many months of deliberating even
considered the $3000 vikings. However, being that I never
embroidered before, I decided it might be overkill for a novice.
The Brother is first of all very reasonably priced; the features
and capabilities of this machine are enough to keep someone
interested for many many years of sewing without becoming bored; it
is very quiet; easy to use; both bobbin & upper threading are
very easy to do; it comes with a huge assortment of items from
bobbin covers (which I never knew existed) to various types of
needles and accessories. It is also lightweight and compact, but
don't be fooled by the small footprint cause this machine blows me
away every time I use it. I can't imagine why anyone would have
complaints or doubts about this model - it even has 3 speeds, not
to mention the oh so handy needle threader. I have owed a singer
machine for years and this SE350 puts the singer to shame as far as
I'm concerned.
I think what people are annoyed with is the fact that they don't
understand the difference between hardware(the machine itself) and
software and the functionality of each. Yes, machine embroidering
has cost me more money than
I anticipated, but I chalk that up to my ignorance of what machine
embroidery really involves. For all those who want to do fancy
monograming, creating their own designs, changing what a design
looks like, etc. they need to understand that it isn't the machine
that does this, but the software. So, if these are the kinds of
things you want to do, you do need to purchase software and maybe
more than one type. What I will say is that I absolutely
HATE the PED basic. I have to use to it because I do download
designs, but it is an awful product. The instructions are not very
thorough because the booklet has to print the same things in a
zillion other languages instead of discussing other important
issues. I chose this product simply because it was the least
expensive and of course I got what I paid for. This is my only
frustration with the embroidery process...NOT the machine itself.

I purchased the SE350 as a replacement for my wife's now broken
6000i. This is a completely redesigned machine according to her,
and can do jobs that the older 6000i couldn't. It doesn't get stuck
that often, and can do light/heavy fabric. The embroidery feature
is a beast of it's own, as one can do many designs including
lettering, pictures, e.t.c. without even being near the machine.
Touch-screen feature feature is nice too have.
The most important thing is for the needle upper to match with
bottom, and using the right size bobbin.
Excellent machine for the money that includes all the features +
more!
